POSITION SUMMARY
The SVP of Finance will report to CFO and be responsible for recommending and managing:
(1) Strategic financial plans and capital allocation,
(2) Operating and capital budgets across VeriSign,
(3) Analysis of strategic business opportunities including potential mergers and acquisitions, and (4) analysis of financial data to support management decisions including impact on current operations and projections of future impact.
The successful candidate will help manage the financial affairs of VeriSign on an ongoing basis and direct the strategic planning and budgeting work within the system.
The SVP of Finance will have the following direct reporting areas:
* Corporate planning
* Financial Analysis
* Strategic Financial Planning
* Coordination of System Budget
* Property management and Procurement
* Treasury
The SVP of Finance serves as one of the senior finance executive leaders, and will serve as a strategic partner to the executive management team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The SVP of Finance will be responsible for the following:
* Serve as SVP overseeing all Financial Planning and Analysis for VeriSign:
o counsel, professional advice and support to the CFO and the executive leaders on matters of financing and financial management;
o direction to the FP&A leadership team
* Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and CFO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
* Oversee budgetary planning, budgetary implementation and cost management in alignment with the organization's strategic plan.
* Support the CFO and other SVPs in financial management.
* Recommend for approval financial policies and procedures.
* Recommend for approval and implement approved financial plans.
* Coordinate the formulation, review and approval of annual operating budgets and capital budgets. Recommend corrective action.
* Manage the financial planning/analysis of VeriSign.
* Provide financial counsel to and participate in meetings at the ELT
* Direct financial strategy planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, CFO and other SVP/VPs.
* Mentor and develop a direct team of finance VPs and professionals; manage work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of a high performing team dynamic.
* Maintain effective partnerships and relationships within the organization.
* May perform other duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION
A Master's degree in finance or business is required; or a Bachelor's degree with additional professional certifications.
