Duties and Qualifications
Position is located 18th & Columbia Rd NW
Responsible for driving branch performance results through direction, leadership and execution of superior sales and service behaviors and activities by the entire team in order to meet/exceed branch sales goals.
Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of a branch, and ensures effective execution of the SunTrust Branch Operating Model.
Conducts outside sales to bring in new business banking clients, while also maintaining and expanding existing personal and business banking relationships.
Meets/exceeds individual sales and referral goals. Provides expertise in operational and risk management policies and procedures.
Conducts sales meetings and coordinates strategy with Area Manager.
Responsible for the selection and retention of top talent, preparation and conducting of timely performance reviews and pay decisions within the branch.
Additionally, Branch Managers at In-Store locations have the added responsibility to ensure the partnership with the host store is maintained, expanded and mutually beneficial and to leverage in-store marketing and promotional opportunities.
Additionally, Licensed Branch Managers may hold insurance licenses (Life, Health and Variable) and/or hold NASD Series 6 and 63 registrations; and must maintain appropriate continuing education requirements as required for retaining licensing and NASD registration.
Responsible for ensuring that all business transactions and practices in the individual's span of control comply with all regulations and the SunTrust Code of Conduct.
Branch demonstrates an environment where the mix of operational risk and complexity is high/moderate and sales opportunity and complexity is low/moderate.
(Tier 2 or Tier 3).
Span of control supports a branch where the transactional and sales levels needs are similar but the complexity may differ.
Risk indicates an increase in total transaction volume and complexity reflects higher percent of business customers.
Goals reflect a rise in opportunity for acquisition and growth based on market demographics. Opportunity in small business market is increasing.
Branch Manager supported by Platform Staff and:
Traditional - (Tier 2) Assistant Branch Manager 1/2 and Teller Lead or Teller Coordinator only (Tier 3) Assistant Branch Manager and Teller Lead.
In Store Branch - Assistant Branch Manager
Minimum Requirements: High School education or equivalent. 2 years supervisory/management experience and 2 years sales experience. Demonstrate a strong sales and service orientation with the ability to coach and lead a team to grow the business and effectively serve the customer.
Preferred Requirements: Post High School education. 2 year experience as a Branch Manager or equivalent supervisory/management experience in the financial services industry. Operational, compliance and retail product experience as demonstrated by having held a position within a retail branch.
