Summary

Creates, plans, directs, and coordinates the communications and content of marketing materials by performing the following duties personally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Articulates corporate messages clearly and consistently across all communications.

Researches and writes executive speeches, internal and external communications, and general marketing communications content.

Collaborates with customers/clients to help bring their stories and testimonies to life.  Works with those same customers to identify needs.

Develops creative campaign materials and tools (hard copy and online) for sales and marketing departments.

Researches, analyzes, and monitors technological and demographic factors in order to capitalize on market opportunities and maximize communications reach.

Contributes to the planning of the organization's advertising and promotion activities including print, electronic, direct mail outlets, and review media.

Communicates and manages outside advertising agencies on ongoing campaigns.  Works with writers and artists and oversees copywriting, design, layout, and production of promotional materials.

Edits and proofs material and content generated by other members of organization for accuracy and consistency.

Coordinates with other business units on cross-departmental communications in order to ensure organizational alignment.

Translates technical data and information into marketable content and materials.

Shares expertise with others for writing, proofing and presenting.

Ensures effective control of marketing results and that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are within designated budgets.

Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, incentives, and content and design of publications to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.

 Education and/or Experience                             

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills                             

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Reasoning Ability                             

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills                             

To perform this job successfully, it is preferable if the individual has knowledge of Eloqua Contact Management systems; Design software (Photoshop, Indesign); Internet software and Word Processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities                             

Well versed in marketing communications – including online marketing, specifically SEO and social media.  Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint  is desired.
