Job Description
  • Applies process improvement and reengineering methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization projects.
  • Analyzes business problems to be solved with automated systems.
  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
  • Utilizes data modeling techniques to document business process and data flows.
  • Documentation of business requirements in RUP-based SDLC to include Vision, software development case and other documents required within the RUP elaboration phase.
  • Translates client wants and needs into proper business and system requirement specifications.
  • Identifies and implements best practices within Business Analysis.
  • Creates and assesses performance measurements.
  • Provides group facilitation, interviewing, training, and provides additional forms of knowledge transfer.
  • Key coordinator between multiple project teams to ensure enterprise-wide integration of reengineering efforts.

  • Effective meeting management skills with the ability to bring discussions and issues to closure with consensus.
  • Effective written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to convey business requirements and technical needs in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
  • Serves as a liaison between the business and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
  • Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization’s system and capabilities
  • Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology
  • Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications
  • Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business
  • Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitation communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation
  • Possesses an understanding of the technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported
  • May make recommendations for buy versus build decisions

 

 

Required Experience
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Rational tools for Requirements & Business Modeling (UML 2.0)
  • Understanding of various issues tracking/resolution, scope estimation and scope management processes
  • Understanding of test scenarios, use cases, acceptance criteria and sequence diagrams
  • Requires technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience in business process analysis, design and documentation
  • Experience in meeting facilitation
  • Strong technical background
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
