Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY BRIEF:
The Design Center Manager is responsible for delivering revenue, margin and productivity standards in line with Company objectives. Coordinates and oversees the daily operations of the Design Center; and recruits, hires and trains staff. Interfaces with and provides direction to our subcontractors and vendors.
Essential Job Functions:
Actively manages the business to ensure that revenue is maximized. Develops budgets in conjunction with regional and national leadership. Forecasts business based on trend and manages to forecast. Monitors key metrics to insure that financial objectives are met.
Works with Regional management and the National Design Center function to establish offering, priorities and direction.
Hires, manages and develops the Design Center staff to ensure an exceptional customer experience. Ensures that appropriate training, information and materials are in place to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
Responsible for physical management of the showroom/selling floor to “Model Home” standard.
Responsible for evaluating, rewarding and motivating the Design Consultants and support staff.
Effectively communicates, cooperates and negotiates with vendors and subcontractors as the business circumstances dictate.
Other Responsibilities:
Leads by example in a highly professional manner with strong customer-centric focus
Conducts product and vendor reviews and evaluate potential new product categories; communicates with National organization.
Meet with vendors on a regular basis to maximize revenue opportunities
Monitors competition and communicate result to appropriate stakeholders
Scope:
Contributes through guiding others at the department level. Supervises multiple employees. Coordinates and directs business partners.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors or equivalency.
Experience:
3-4 years management in builder design center, retail design center or equivalency.
Skill in:
Strong managerial, organizational and communications skill. Must be able to motivate and direct team. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong numeric orientation required. Computer skills required, particularly Excel and Access. Ability to effectively lead teams, sell/promote ideas and identify and resolve issues that would prevent or deter the success of the Design Center or foster customer dissatisfaction.
