We are currently seeking an Energy/Green Building Manager to provide program management for energy management, utilities management and analysis, recycling, green building initiatives and environmental sustainability initiatives for portfolios of commercial office buildings in our client's Richmond office.
ENERGY/GREEN BUILDING MANAGER - Richmond, VA
Responsibilities:
- Develop a Strategic Energy Management Plan with actions and timelines
- Manage distributed team to deliver objectives and actions of the strategic energy plan
- Establish clear targeted and achievable goals for the energy program
- Create and chair an energy management oversight committee
- Manage the energy benchmarking and assessment of all major facilities
- Develop a method to centrally manage utility invoices
- Manage the process of identifying and prioritizing energy capital projects
- Develop the process to procure energy at the lowest rates
- Develop energy policies and incentive programs
- Routine reporting of performance Metrics
- Develop portfolio-wide training and communication of energy conservation activities Use six sigma type methodologies to identify opportunities and create control plans to sustain energy savings
- Develop programs and projects to drive energy efficiency within the portfolio
- Work in a consultative manner with Facility Managers, Assistant Facility Managers, Chief Engineers and technical staff to gather data, analyze use patterns and EMS programming to identify physical plant upgrades that result in reduced energy consumption
- Manage utilities budget and tracking of all utility expenses for the client portfolio
- Provide forecast of utility expenses throughout the portfolio
- Work collaboratively with client staff on green initiatives and provide support as requested consistent with contracted services
- Evaluate facilities practices to ensure that operational practices account for green alternatives
- Work with technical staff to transition to green practices if cost effective and viable
- Provide clear and concise reporting of all energy and sustainability activities on prescribed intervals or as requested by client
- Act as a Jones Lang LaSalle representative to new construction project teams ensuring sustainable practices and products are incorporated
- Track and manage energy savings and cost saving realized by client as a result of incorporating sustainable practices
- Oversee corporate recycling program, tracking participation and diversion data
- Encourage participation by new and existing employees thru outreach and marketing efforts and attending new employee training
- Collaborate with other Jones Lang LaSalle energy and environmental managers to learn best practices and publish best practices developed on client account for benefit of all firm clients
- Help support facility specific cost savings targets to contribute to the account achieving significant savings in year one and two of outsourced operations
- Ensure all sustainability measures are evaluated for cost effectiveness and approved by Jones Lang LaSalle and client management prior to implementation
- Create and issue purchase orders as directed by managers
Requirements:
- College graduate (engineering, business, or similar); LEED Certification preferred
- 10+ years experience with managing energy for a portfolio of properties
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team
- Six Sigma certification or equivalent ISO experience and training
- Experience presenting information to all levels of management
- Demonstrated experience in training
- Experienced in the procurement of energy supply
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Superior customer service skills and orientation
- Collaborative style needed
- Ability to maintain professionalism at all times under stressful situations
- Strong organizational skills
