Position Description
Job Purpose
Under the direction of the US Manager of Electronic Discovery & Litigation Technology, the Project Manager is the primary liaison of the Electronic Discovery & Litigation Technology Department to individual case teams using litigation technologies, and assists the case team in managing litigation documents including both hardcopy documents and electronic data throughout the automation process, and advises, assists and trains case teams in the use of litigation systems.
Position Requirements
Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversees, coordinates and tracks project progress and work-flow from inception through trial or deal closing and provides status reports.
• Acts as liaison between the staff of Electronic Discovery & Litigation Technology Department and case teams, attorneys and clients on projects.
• Works with case teams to prepare documents for processing by vendors. Ensures that all assigned outsourced projects are on schedule and coordinates between vendors, Electronic Discovery & Litigation Technology Manager and case teams.
• Develop recommendations, plans, cost estimates, budgets, procedures, and specifications for case-specific projects from discovery to trial phase.
• Coordinates requests for new databases and imagebases with the Electronic Discovery & Litigation Technology Analysts and assists team members in selecting and designing appropriate data structures.
• Create new Concordance, Ipro, LiveNote and CaseMap databases and loads data as needed.
• Coordinates production of data and modification of database structures in consultation with the Electronic Discovery & Litigation Technology Analyst. This includes searching and quality control auditing of databases and image bases, printing reports, preparing custom reports and logs, modifying and coding data, and printing and organizing images.
• Advises team members on technical issues relating to the automation project.
• Approaches new needs or problems creatively and works with team members to provide effective support and solutions.
• Provides quality customer service to case teams and clients including direct end-user support in support of the Firm’s help desk.
• Interact with users of varying skill level and provide end user support.
• Delivers legal application and litigation database training to case teams and responds to on-demand training and assistance requests.
• Troubleshoot litigation support applications and work with IT department to resolve issues.
• Maintains and updates project files and documentation.
• Researches latest technology trends.
• Participates in development of long-term strategies in support of the Firm's practice areas.
• Contacts and reviews vendors.
• Designs databases and reports.
• Review database data loads.
• Reviews and verifies bills presented by vendors for projects.
• Assist in professional development of staff members.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of litigation process from initial filing through trial.
• Knowledge of electronic discovery and the FRCP (Federal Rules of Civil Procedures).
• In depth understanding of electronic discovery including data collection, processing, review and production of data
• Mandatory experience in managing large electronic discovery matters from inception.
• Working knowledge of Concordance, iPro, LiveNote, TrialDirector, MS Access, CaseMap, TimeMap, and other litigation support software. Advanced or intermediate administrative knowledge of Concordance and iPro is mandatory
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of personnel.

• Minimum of three years' experience as a Litigation Support Project Manager or Coordinator.
