Responsibilities
Provide warfare systems acquisition program management support for the CVN21 Future Aircraft Carrier, Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare System 10.0 team. Duties will include coordinate the development and implementation of Integrated Warfare System planning, programmatic support, and execution. Provide coordination of efforts between PEO Carriers, other PEOs (especially PEO IWS, NAVAIR, and PEO C4I) and other SYSCOMs. Develop problem resolution options based on solid engineering practices. Ability to manage a team of engineers, keeping the team focused, and provide products on time and on schedule to the customer. This position requires individual to work collaboratively with other contractors and government counter parts to provide mitigation and ultimately resolution of issues and risks to the program. Perform multi-faceted assignments requiring analytical skill set. Utilize effectively theory, concepts and principles in the design, development and implementation of analytic models and systems. Develop schedules and evaluate plans for various projects or program activities to meet requirements and milestones. Provide recommendations based on thorough analysis that utilizes sound principles and methods. Initiate and develop operational ideas and develop effective implementation schemes. Lead working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements. Assist in the resolution of project and program priorities. Assure quality control throughout all contract activities. Assist in budget development to include POM/PR submissions. The focus of these efforts will be the development and integration of Warfare Systems in a family of systems with knowledge into the individual systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor¿s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline plus 15 years of combined experience in the Navy combat systems/warfare systems/program, or more than 20 years experience as a US Navy officer, or Master¿s degree plus 12 years of directly relevant work experience. Must be an energetic, self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a fast paced group environment and have good organizational skills. Must have excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to apply knowledge of the defense acquisition process to support customers in the analysis and improvement of aircraft carrier warfare systems while managing teams of engineers. Proficiency in MS Office products required. DAWIA certification in Program Management a plus. The ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required. Possess a thorough knowledge of applicable operational mission areas and national defense requirements. A retired Navy officer at or about the Commander level with aircraft carrier or ¿big¿ deck experience would be a plus.
