Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Manager (PM) will have an in-depth of knowledge in both systems analysis and project management necessary to lead and participate in development efforts and ensure that client engagements and deliverables are delivered on-time. The PM leads the development team on all day-to-day contract-related activities as per the Statement of Work (SOW) and Corporate guidelines. The PM will ensure compliance with Corporate CMMI policies and procedures and with client’s System Development Methodology (SDM) guidelines.
The PM will manage exempt employees and contractors who serve on project teams and also manage the cross-functional interdependencies between a group of projects and related activities within the constraint of scope, quality, time, and cost, to deliver specified requirements and meet or exceed customer expectations. The PM will report directly to the Vice President for Information Technology.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES (where applicable)
n Assigns and monitors the contract-related tasks to the development team
n Ensures that direct reports are billable to contracts
n Ensures the attendance and professionalism of the direct reports
n Supervises the project performance of staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures
n Identifies and develops work-related procedures for staff
n Assists with recruiting, identifying, and selecting project staff and consultants
n Initiates and Define Program (e.g., conduct needs analysis; establish program vision and high level strategy; link to customer and company goals and strategies)
n Creates Roadmap (e.g. analyze internal/external environments; identify & prioritize projects or primary tracks of work, identify integration opportunities and translate into long-term implementation plan)
n Defines Standards (e.g., establish delivery methodology, operational structure, and norms, roles & responsibilities; ensure compliance)
n Assesses Risk (e.g., identify risks & create mitigation plans)
n Defines Metrics (e.g., identify measures for success related to program) Implementation
n Administers Program (e.g., manage integration interdependencies; make and ensure decisions to optimize effectiveness and drive goal achievement)
n Manages Program Operating Costs (e.g., estimate program investment and request budget allocation and reallocations; ensure program is within budget; manage WBS)
n Mentors Team (e.g. create energy, promote and recognize contribution for team; share knowledge and expertise with team members)
n Generates Weekly and Monthly Status Reports to be submitted to the client
n Ensures that the client requests are attended to in a timely manner
n Ensures compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
n Skilled in structured systems design, demonstrated by the ability to clearly translate business requirements into a system design
n Knowledges of system implementation methodologies and experience applying the methodologies on more than one enterprise-wide project
n Provides expertise and input into the system sizing, capacity plans and hardware/software configuration setup
n Ensures the technical portions of the project plan are accurate (tasks, dependencies, estimates, resources) and ensures it accurately reflects actual project performance
n Works to ensure all tasks on the project plan assigned to technical resources are completed on time
n Analysis and recommendation of new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support client goals
n Ensures that all documentation is maintained and updated as required by the project(s)
n Provides quality assurance for all deliverables
n Provides Business Development support to the VP IT as required
n Attends client briefings and presentations
n Maintains Development Group’s SharePoint site
n Coordinates monthly project meetings with the client.

Experience Requirements:
a) Minimum of 6 years of experience in the IT field with
b) At least 2 years of management experience
Skills:
a) Essential skills - Strong systems analysis experience in a mixed system environment (Windows and Unix). Strong knowledge of relational databases. Advanced level knowledge of network technologies and protocols. Knowledge of SDLC and RUP.
· Required technology knowledge: Windows servers, UNIX, , J2EE, Oracle, SQL, Microsoft Office, Project and SharePoint
b) Transferable skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In depth knowledge of the IT industry, broad experience with distributed applications and Internet technologies
c) Personality or self management skills – Self-starter with good interpersonal skills, high degree of professionalism.
2. EDUCATION
Educational Requirements:
a) Bachelor of Science in a technical field is required
b) Specialized Training/Certification (where required or applicable) e.g. PMP certification a plus
