Overview
Coppin State University, a fully accredited institution and member of the University System of Maryland, is accepting applications for an Admissions processor. Founded in 1900, Coppin is a model urban, residential liberal arts university located in the northwest section of the City of Baltimore that provides academic programs in the arts and sciences, teacher education, nursing, graduate studies, and continuing education. Coppin offers 53 majors, and twelve graduate degree programs, Nearly 4,000 students are enrolled in day, evening, on-line, and weekend undergraduate and graduate courses.

Responsibilities

    * Perform a variety of clerical and technical duties.
    * Maintain student admissions coding and records.
    * Provide exceptional customer service.
    * Communicate with callers, students, staff, and the public at large.
    * Disseminate information.
    * Aid students with admissions procedures.
    * Sort and maintain applications.
    * Assist with the implementation of recruitment events and activities.
    * Provide receptionist and data entry support.
    * Utilize technological systems.
    * Assists with Admissions related functions and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.

Experience
Three years of general clerical experience.

Skills

    * Self motivated and meticulous attention to detail.
    * The ability to file documents according to alphabetic sequence and check records accurately.
    * Working knowledge of office practices.
    * Ability to perform routine clerical tasks independently as well as work well with others; work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; and organize, plan and gather information.
    * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft.
    * A professional image and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
