Environmental Project Engineer
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Project Engineer to support its Richmond-based Remediation and Construction operation. The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental) and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and construction project management of environmental remediation projects. Professional Engineering licensure (or demonstration of licensing track) required.
This position will provide remediation design and project managerial responsibilities, as well as field inspection, review, and engineering support. The position will report directly to the Section Manager, and will support a variety of programs and projects. Projects will typically include soil and groundwater remediation, munitions response/ unexploded ordinance sites, and municipal drinking and wastewater treatment. Responsibilities will include:
· Proposal preparation - operational planning/sequencing, remedial technology and waste disposition evaluation, cost estimating, technical writing
· Design-phase technical project execution - design input and management; evaluation and selection of remedial technologies; treatment system process design; control and instrumentation specification; preparation of engineering reports, work plans, drawings, and technical specifications; preparation of detailed cost estimates
· Construction-phase project execution - coordination with and management of field staff, construction task/project management, site engineering support, periodic on-site construction management and support
Applicant shall demonstrate the following experience:
1) Groundwater and soil remediation - Knowledge of conventional and innovative remedial technologies, contaminant assessment and delineation, equipment evaluation and specification (pumps, transducers, meters, etc.).
2) Construction Project Management - Track and control budgets, prepare cost estimates and invoices, develop and track schedules, supervise and coordinate subcontractors, conduct field monitoring and inspection, prepare reports and correspondence.
3) Operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems - Prepare operation and maintenance manuals; perform training and supervision for system operators, assistance in startup and debugging of treatment system components, controls, and instrumentation.
