JOB SUMMARY: Performs assignments involving planning and conducting a complete Project of limited scope or a portion of a larger, more complex project.
Performs interior architecture and design assignments concerned with the application their principles, theories, and concepts providing solutions to a variety of problems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: May include but not limited to the following:
• Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic and design development drawings, final working drawings, technical specifications, and control books
• Assure conformance with standards, established practices, applicable codes, and the technical adequacy of design
• Adapt and modify design and operational methods to meet a variety of situations
• Prepares presentations including design and detail sketches, perspectives, renderings and other presentation materials
• Compiles and analyses research of product information including availability and pricing related to design specifications and technical data; preparation of cost estimates
• Develops furniture, finish, and color concepts
• Prepares reports, narratives, analyses, and other design and project related activities
• Work is primarily project-oriented, but could be directed toward other aspects such as library, office standards, awards submittals, or business development
• Perform field assignments such for verification, inventory, documentation, and observation
• Coordinate the preliminary and final drawings in accordance with basic design
• Review shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Clarification (RFCs)
• Implement and follow AECOM Quality Assurance Program procedures
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related subject.
EXPERIENCE: Incumbent has 1 -3 years of related project design. Qualified to sit for licensing examination in any state that requires licensing.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Able to apply standard procedures in carrying out a sequence of related interior architecture and design tasks
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Technical writing capability for project documentation and narrative reports
• CADD proficiency
