Legal Secretary – Government Contracts BJA816
Location: Washington, DC
A large, multi-office, international law firm is seeking an experienced legal secretary to provide support to attorneys in their government contracting practice area. Responsibilities: prepare drafts and revise legal documents, reports, letters, and memoranda from dictation and/or hand-written edits, manage workflow, using firm resources (e.g., DPS, EDPS, LS management, Office Services) when necessary and appropriate, draft basic client correspondence responding to non-legal inquiries from clients as directed by assigned attorney, prepare spreadsheets, charts, and presentation materials using Excel and PowerPoint, serve as the initial contact for clients and/or visitors in person, on the telephone, and via e-mail, assist team with administration related to matters (e.g., preparing binders for closings or client meetings; updating databases; preparing notebooks, exhibits, and forms), establish and maintain a calendar of key activities, deliverables, and deadlines for each matter, maintain attorney calendars including setting up appointments and meetings and send docket requests to docketing department for entry on firm docket.
Qualifications: Need proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint applications, Bachelor’s degree or some college preferred, minimum of 2 years of Government Contract experience.
Salary pays to the upper $70s depending on the amount of legal experience you have. Firm offers a warm and congenial work environment and excellent benefits.
