Responsibilities:

The Logistician I provides support to subcontractors, management, and customers with logistics technology ensuring effective and economical support concerned with servicing or manufacture of products, systems, or equipment. Responsibilities may include the transportation of raw materials and/or finished goods, vendor selection and negotiation, distribution of supplies as needed, and inventory control. Participates in the development of logistics plans in order to enhance distribution of goods and supplies.

May implement program activities, coordinate efforts of subcontractors, production departments, and field service personnel, and resolve routine problems in area of logistics to ensure meeting of contractual commitments. Assists in developing handbooks, bulletins, and information systems to provide and supply logistics support. Compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistics activities.

May perform special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions. May utilize computer techniques for analysis, simulation or information systems and documentation. May analyze contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to assist in planning and developing logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life-cycle of product.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate requires a bachelor's degree and two years of general experience related to the required responsibilities. One (1) year of specific experience in defense life-cycle (acquisition) logistics support of electronic systems, to include: logistics principles, practices, and processes is required. The position is contingent upon contract award.

Security: Must be eligible for a Secret security clearance. Candidates for this position will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship required. Some travel required.
