Summary:
Supervise night shift employees to provide MTS and it business partners with the highest quality of service in the direct mail processing industry while meeting cost per transaction objectives and safety standards; manage company policy compliance, productivity, cost, systems and quality from each department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage the major functions of the assigned shift
2. Ensure quality of service meets standards
3. Manage required vendor and carrier procurement
4. Develop strategies, monitor progress and mobilize the shift to achieve established goals
5. Ensure effective use of time management, empowerment practices, and help balance the priorities of the shift supervision
6. Ensure a high level of staff morale and staff communication
7. Establish an environment of teamwork, employee involvement/empowerment, fairness, and consistency
8. Oversee training and the effective use of process improvement tools to continuously improve satisfaction, quality, and cost
9. Assist GM with labor and capital budgeting
10. Ensure the achievement of financial targets, best value performance and an aggressive use of performance improvement
11. Support the ongoing development and implementation of the MTS business plan through timely and accurate fulfillment and transmit operations while maintaining cost efficiencies
12. Perform other related duties as required and assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience

At least 3 years manufacturing experience

Knowledge of mail processes and warehouse / fulfillment business operations.

Budgeting experience

Experience in managing production operations quality and safety programs.

Understanding of basic USPS Standard and Package Service mailing services.

Experience in managing to production standards and with automation utilization.

Experience in managing 5 x 24 operations employing over 100 total employees

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Ability to stand, bend, lift, and have repetitive movements in support of machines and transport of materials weighing up to 50 lbs. (additional weight may be required with assistance)
· Standing, walking or moving about, up to 100% of work shift
· Noise level generated from other distribution activity can be somewhat loud at times, but no damaging levels or protective equipment required
· Temperature in the distribution center can vary greatly from warm to cool.
