The VP, Business Development & Account Management, Global will provide the key strategic planning for the development of the Naming and Naming related channel and business development plans, as well as, the practical day to day implementation and oversight of those plans.  All account management and business development personnel who work within the Naming business unit will report direcly or indirectly to this position, including domestic and international resources.  This position will be required to attend customer visits, customer conferences, industry related events, etc.   This position requires extensive travel and the ability to travel with short notice.   This position will interface with the other key business unit leads within VRSN to ensure that cross business unit opportunities are vetted and fully leveraged. The person holding this position will have responsibility for deliverables of all key sales and pipeline activity such that the bonus tied to this position will be contingent upon meeting a designated list of requirements, such as closing a certain number of business targets and ensuring that account teams meet cash goals and lead goals.  This position will also be required to ensure overall marketing success of programs which are rolled out within the channel.  This position will be called upon to meet with foreign governments
 
 
 

Qualifications

 
20+ years of overall business experience
10 - 15 years of prior Business development/ Channel management experience with background in creation of channel programs and demonstrated ability to drive successful programs through channels.
Proven track record of creating and developing strong business partnerships within relevant Internet industry experience. 
Prior International channel and account management background required.
BS/BA required, MBA a plus 
Foreign language capability or International living experience is a plus
Must have prior background in translating customer needs into actionable product or program requirements
Must have prior background in successfully translating customer needs and market needs into actionable channel marketing programs
Must have demonstrated ability of successful contract negotiation skills
Prior management of global teams with diverse backgrounds is a requirement
 
**Travel for this position both domestically and internationally is a requirement.  High frequency and duration of travel required.  Must be able to obtain visas for all countries which require them. 
 
Position to be based in Dulles, Virginia office
