ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership seeks an experienced marketing professional for a temporary, 5-8 month period of time whose primary objective is to develop, implement and evaluate marketing strategies and tactics in support of various major projects for ASAE & The Center. This includes developing and implementing marketing tactics that may utilize all of the communication channels including direct mail, print, advertising, web sites, exhibits and email. This position will have significant interaction with many departments and will be expected to manage campaigns as well as discrete projects as needed.


 


SUMMARY OF BASIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for development and implementation of marketing strategy, materials and promotional components for campaigns tailored to specific segments, programs, products and events to achieve targeted goals for participation, attendance and revenue. Key to the success of this position is the ability to manage/develop promotional concepts, copy and package designs based on analysis of marketing, sales and competitive data. Ability to identify and develop and implement cross-selling strategies is a must. Strong team creative, project management skills and overall client management skills are essential. Develops and manages multi-faceted marketing campaigns, which include print collateral, e-marketing, advertising, and interactive marketing to create campaigns intended to position ASAE & The Center, enhance and broaden its appeal, reach new and more diverse market segments and increase revenue. Thrives in a fast-paced, high volume work environment and is a professional who works collaboratively with a diverse group of product line managers across the organizations to create and manage cross-organizational, integrated marketing strategies. Individual should be able to bring new marketing concepts to the organization so that, when possible, non-traditional strategies can be tested and employed.


 


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Develop and implement marketing campaigns and promotions to support a wide variety of programs and services with emphasis on special events, education programs, research initiatives, website strategies and product launches.


• Focus on marketing programs to support publications sales and professional development attendance.


• Support ASAE & The Center’s product line marketing staff by developing design and promotional campaign concepts and writing promotional copy.


• Reviews and edits existing and new promotional materials for marketing effectiveness.


• Manages e-mail campaigns and develops website copy.


• Pulls mail lists and other data inquiries for projects.


• Manages individual client marketing budgets, including tracking and reporting all costs, and analyzing sales and marketing effectiveness of tactics as required.


• Reviews marketing communications ensuring consistent use of ASAE & The Center’s brand guidelines.


• Analyzes and interprets marketing, sales and historical competitive data in developing marketing tactics.


• Works closely with the product/program developers (client) to gain full understanding of features and benefits to be promoted.


• Manages free-lance designer relationships and creative direction for each project.


 










NOTES:Local Residents Preferred (No Relo).
Additional Salary Information: This is a temporary position and the salary is commensurate with experience.




 










 Requirements 

EDUCATION: Four-year college degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related area is required.


 


TECHNICAL SKILLS: Thorough knowledge and understanding of collateral development, e-marketing and advertising is required. Any experience in public relations is desirable but not required. Exceptional promotional copy writing and editing skills are required, as is the ability to communicate creative concepts and strategies to a diverse range of members and non-members. Marketing, analytical and creative skills will help the incumbent be successful in this position. The ability to manage multiple projects under sometimes compressed schedules is a must. Individual must be able to work independently and collaboratively as one member of 7-9 person marketing, branding and communications department team while collaboratively managing various clients.


 


COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills and a well-developed sense of customer/client service.


 


PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES: A minimum of five-to-seven years of demonstrated experience and results in collateral and electronic marketing communications in a high-paced, high-volume environment is required. The ability to create and test new approaches for promoting products, services, and association products and services is important. Agency and/or association experience is desirable but not required.
