Davis Calibration is currently seeking a Vice President - Sales for our Timonium, MD headquarters facility.
Description of Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
This position will manage and develop a National Sales strategy and sales force that is responsible for both developing strong relationships with key customers and industry segments and meeting established sales objectives. Will manage all sales operations to include; market planning, sales activity reporting and workflow, commission calculations, proposal management, systems and employee performance management. This position will report to the Vice President of Business Development and supervise Business Development Managers, Account Managers and Sales Support.
Leads, manages and directs a national sales team to achieve industry awareness, customer relationship, sales bookings and billings, and profit goals. Designs and recommends programs to achieve these goals and sets short and long-term goals for team. Evaluates, coaches and mentors staff for both long term career development and optimal performance.
Reviews and analyzes performance against programs to determine effectiveness. Prepares weekly reports showing call and contact activity, sales volume, qualified pipeline, forecasts and sales compensation.
Evaluates and implements appropriate new programs, training, techniques, and tools to increase the strength of our industry awareness and customer relationships, opportunity, and sales volume. Recommend solution and service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
On an ongoing basis, assess market needs including potential new markets; communicate regularly with target customers; and formulate strategies to drive results. Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, sales and marketing or related field is required. Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
10 years of sales experience with at least 5 years in a leadership and management position preferably in a technical service industry.
Demonstrated success in selling complex professional services.
Experience managing a nationwide sales team is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to drive increased industry awareness, stronger customer relationships, sales growth and market share through data and market analysis. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and Sales force.com or other contact management software required.
Effective oral/presentation and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
Candidates must possess demonstrated organization and negotiation skills.
Must be self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work well under pressure.
Some travel is required
