Description of Tasks To Be Performed

Applicant will be responsible for database maintenance and management of a mission critical enterprise application. This position is at the customer site. You will be responsible for understanding and applying security, business rules, and best practices in an environment that supports data extractions, transports, loads, performance improvements, and application deployments. Applicant will participate in technical and customer meetings. Applicant will also create written documentation of database configurations and planned changes (design documentation). Applicant is expected to interact and provide service to service to end users, customer technical staff, and internal technical staff.

Required Qualifications:

Experience supporting production Oracle 10g databases

-Installation of Oracle Components

-Installation of Criticial Patch Updates (CPU)

-Installation and running of OPatch

-Installation of Automatic Storage Management (ASM) to a disk array or SAN

-Configuring Oracle to meet requirements of a secure environment

-Configuring Oracle for PKI authentication and Secure Socket Layer (SSL)

-Configuring Oracle for high availability and hot failover

-Configuring Oracle RMAN for incremental backups

-Maintaining and scaling Oracle databases greater than 500GB in size

-Ability to specify hardware requirements for various Oracle scalability and performance needs (processor, memory, and disk size and speed)

Experience supporting Oracle in a Linux environment

-Setting up Linux kernel parameters for Oracle

-Linux permissions and file structures for Oracle

-Basic Linux system administration commands (networks, file shares, firewalls)

Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance

Oracle RAC, high availability, and/or DataGuard support experience

Open to working a swing shift

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with ETL tools and Oracle technologies

Experience with Oracle Database Vault

Familiar with Oracle in a storage environment
