Job Description:

Responsibilities
    Job Description - Design and evaluation of mixed signal, electro-mechanical detection systems for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications.  Perform algorithm development and implementation on a variety of different platforms including communication and GUI interfaces to COTS black boxes.

Duties - Hardware/software integration and testing (including ICE, debuggers, and JTAG), DSP algorithm development for speech/video/audio applications, real-time and multi-threaded systems and applications.  Embedded systems development (8 bit to Pentium), software architecture design, prototype, and code, systems engineering, proof-of-concept  design and rapid prototyping.  Object-oriented design and programming for embedded systems using assembly language, C/C++, C#,  Win32 API, WinCE 5, ThreadX, VxWorks, and Linux.  Develop GUIs to control developed applications.  Apply configuration management tools in general such as gForge, CVS or SVN. Utilize Visual Studio 2005, Visual DSP, and/or Eclipse for software development.  Assist in the design and development of wired and wireless network hardware and software (including low-level protocols), data acquisition systems, transducer and sensor interfacing. Technical documentation (software development plans and architectures).

Qualifications
    Required - B.S.,degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related degree.  At least 7 years of embedded systems and software development experience.  Experience with real-time programming, DLL interfaces, and service applications in an embedded environment.  Record of achievement in a technical discipline developing and testing complex systems.  Excellent organizational, verbal and written and communication skills. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, sponsors and external organizations. Demonstrated software development and engineering design skills.  Test planning and data collection experience.  Must be eligible for DOD clearance requiring background investigation. Preference for current DOD clearance. Preference for current SSBI.

Desired - M.S., or Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related degree.  . Experience in rapidly solving difficult technical and procedural problems.  Ten or more years experience preferably in CBRNE and/or ISR sensor and programming applications.  Experience with Windows & Linux programming, DLL interfaces, GUIs, and DSP and/or FPGA devices.  Technical lead and/or project managment experience.

Special Work Conditions
    Local and CONUS long distance travel (~10%).

Security
    Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.
