Java Applications Developer

Position Description:
Assist in developing an automation tool designed to provide logistics planners and executive management the capability to maintain critical medical logistical asset visibility for Homeland Defense programs oriented for incident response, consequence management and readiness capability.
This position will consist of the development of information technology solutions and making technology based recommendations for the logistics aspects of Homeland Security programs concentrating on property accountability and quality control. This includes such system engineering, research, analysis, design, development, test, and evaluation activities as necessary to develop a web based application tool designed to synthesize and archive relevant data for asset visibility, tracking accountability and executive decision making support.
Essential Skills:

• Experience with Java Web development technologies (JSTL, Struts, Servlets, Spring, Ant, Axis, etc.)
• Familiarity with design patterns and test-first development.
• SQL, Oracle and JDBC experience.
• HTML, JavaScript, Ajax, XML
• Experience with OC4J or other Java web application containers (Tomcat, JBoss).
• Must work extremely well as part of team-oriented application design.
• Must be eager to share your knowledge and mentor other members of the development team.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
• Must be able to obtain and hold a Secret Level Clearance
Desired Skills:

• Oracle Application Server setup and development
• Application Server security setup (SSL, PKI, etc)
• Developing open standards based portlets (WSRP, JSR-168)

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
Other Conditions of Employment: Applicant must be a US citizen and will be subject to a government security investigation to insure they meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
