Apptis is looking for a Systems Programmer to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland!
The Systems Programmer will be working at the Center for Project Implementation, Tracking and Support.
Center for Project Implementation, Tracking and Support (CPITS) is responsible for providing project-monitoring and statistical support that is vital to the Executive Staff, Task Managers, Project Teams and other decision-makers responsible for implementing projects. CPITS technicians provide customers with accurate and up-to-date information as well as available inventories of equipment and management information for project tracking in an on-line, real-time environment.
Projects:
Office relocations are an ongoing project throughout Headquarters components, SSA field and state DDS offices. Office relocations require close coordination between several components, each providing specific resources and technical support.
New and very large initiatives designed to significantly improve the components that make up the Local Area Networks (LAN) supported by our vast network infrastructure.
The objective of this task is to support the staff by maintaining and enhancing the Project Tracking System.
Candidate will:
Use T-SQL queries to extract information from Microsoft SQL Server databases
Develop and maintain Intranet appllications using ASP.NET and using Visual Studio
Develop in Visual Basic (VB).Net and ADO.NET
Write VB Script/JavaScript client side web code, CSS, and HTML
Use SQL Server client tools such as Management Studio
Move SQL Server database objects
Work independently to research/resolve technical issues
Work in person and written form with users and project coordinators
Perform the full range of analytical tasks for web-based business applications
Participate in the full software development life cycle

Required Skills
The candidate should be able to document this experience with portfolio references or specific references to programming projects currently in use
Proficient utilizing SQL Server client tools such as Management Studio to create and manage database objects and scripts
Required Experience
To effectively maintain the PTS application the candidate must have knowledge of current Internet Data Access technologies.
The successful programmer must possess the following skills:
A minimum of three years experience developing Intranet applications using ASP.NET and using Visual Studio
A minimum of three years experience programming in Visual Basic (VB).Net and ADO.net
A minimum of three years experience writing VB Script/JavaScript client side web code , CSS, and HTML
A minimum of three years experience writing T-SQL queries to extract information from Microsoft SQL Server databases (version 2000 or 2005)
Experience moving database objects between SQL Servers.
Experience with requirements gathering and providing project timelines and estimates
