This is a non-merit employment contract position.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the team in developing and supporting long term and short term strategies for systems operations such as configuration management, change management, optimization and crisis management. Architect, implement and ensure successful backup and recovery process. Architect, implement, monitor and maintain the Intel, AMD, LINUX, and Windows server infrastructure. Develop and maintain detailed disaster recovery systems and procedures in conjunction with the IT Security team. Support strategic plan for infrastructure growth and standard processes while providing tactical execution. Manage, maintain, and support the responsibility of multiple distributed platforms, database and middleware environments for the company. Manage hardware/software installations and upgrades on multiple platforms including integration with MVS. Develop, manage and support procedures for automating systems health check. Develop, manage and support procedures for an intrusion prevention system (IPS) and detection (IDS). Qualifying Education, Experience, and Certifications.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of server technology, software technology, systems analysis, research techniques, systems development standards and quality and cost controls. Extensive ability to quickly locate and isolate operational deficiencies problems and process problems that impede production. Very strong understanding of RDBMS technologies. Solid management knowledge of distributed architectures. Strong knowledge/ experience of the Windows environment and supported software databases, software and security. Thorough LINUX application and architecture knowledge. Advanced knowledge of components of Windows, and Linux operating systems and how to interact with them. Diverse knowledge of following products: Microsoft SCCM, MS-Exchange, CITRIX, and VMware ESX, HP Openview, Nagios, SAN Switches, MS-Cluster, SFTP, SAN Tools, Document Direct.
The individual we are seeking will satisfy all or substantially all of the following: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other technical discipline OR five (5) additional years of relevant IT professional experience. 4 to 6 years of progressive experience supporting systems administration in Windows and Linux (primarily DELL platform) within a large corporate environment Experience in a multi-platform environment, including Windows, Linux, SAN, Web Services and Mainframe Extensive experience in Linux OS and other related open source products. Experience in architecting, monitoring and maintaining the Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain. Experience with technology refresh (systems lifecycle management) Experience with implementing redundancy, clustering, disaster recovery and BCP plans. Experience with implementing and supporting ITIL methodologies to proactively monitor systems environments.
Preferences: PMP certification or other related training. Related technical certifications.
