Qualifications
    Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science with 5 - 7 years experience in System Administration, Application Support/Development.  Applicant must have proven experience and at least 5 years combind hands-on in SQL server 2000/2005 environment, SQL Database,  XML/XSLT manipulation, .Net, JAVA/J2EE and knowledge in Application Development.  Experience in JAMIS eTime System, Nextance Contract Management Application and understanding business functional requirement is desired.  Excellent communication skills are required.


In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in systems administration.

Related technical certifications may be required.

A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
    Responsibilities
    This position is can be located in our Lanham, Md office or  McLean, Va office.

Works directly with the Financial and Contract System Administrators / Application Developers and reports to the Corporate Management Systems Director.  Maintains Production, Development and Test data environments; Provides ongoing support of an application or an application component considering performance, serviceability, usability and maintainability.  Serves as Backup to Primary System Administrators / Application Developers.

Maintains smooth operation of complex multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.

Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves complex software related problems.

Uses systems management software to monitor servers and applications, troubleshooting problems and coordinating with other teams when problems occur.

Develops, tests and maintains a disaster recovery plan.

Supports applications development project teams with the development of test servers, testing new system configurations and consulting on difficult system performance issues.

Tests and evaluates network hardware and software to determine compatibility with current systems.

Develops and maintains system documentation. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Performs system backups and recovery.

Provides guidance to less experienced Systems Administrators.
