Description/Job Summary
Radio Communications Maintenance Technician will maintain, inventory,and issues radios and all perpheral equipment assigned to account. Will perform equipment troubleshooting duties and installations
Responsibilities/Duties
Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of analog and/or digital electronics and communications equipment and systems as tasked by the government or project manager.
• Repair, install, modify, train and consult on communications equipment and systems in a client site.
• Troubleshooting customer communications equipment to module or component level.
• Mobile radio programming, preparation and maintenance of the following radios: Astro Spectra, Siren systems, light systems and other specialized radio equipment
• Prepare job tickets, material request and trip reports.
• Fixed radio programmig, preparation and maintenance of the following: Quantar base stations and repeater, Yogi receivers, Digital interface Units (DIU), Astro Comparators, modems, consoles and other specialized radio systems
• Transportable radio programming, preparation and maintenance of the following: Trip base and repeater stations, trip receiver packs, trip modem packs, trip consoles, antenna kits and other specialized transportable radio equipment
• Perform other work as directed.
Required Skills
-High level knowledge of existing and emerging technologies is a must.
• Certified and/or strong knowledge in communications maintenance environments.
Required Experience
At least 4 years of proven experience in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of electronic equipment that includes power supplies, miscellaneous cables and single layer circuit cards.
Required Education
An Associate Degree in computer science, electronics technology or related field.
Note: 3 years of additional experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelors degree.
Required Qualifications
Completion of electronics training with curriculum that must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting or repair of analog and/or digital electronics and communications equipment and systems.
• Candidate MUST possess a Top Secret clearance.
• MUST be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.
Details
Candidates will be subject to a Department of Defense background security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Secret Security Clearance.
This is a full time, non exempt position.
