 Position Summary

 
The individual will configure and install HF and VHF radio equipment and ancillaries in Kabul and other various Afghan National Police (ANP) locations in support of ANP Communications project. The individual will also erect towers at Police District locations.  This task will include mounting hardware and grounding of installed systems.  Also, individual will train ANP Personnel at garrison and field locations throughout Afghanistan on radios.  Conditions include high altitude temperature extremes in the highs during summer months and the lows in the winter months.  Warehouse is not climate controlled and security environment is medium to high risk.  Installers will have US military escorts provided to conduct work in the police districts.  Position requires physical labor.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

    *
      Demonstrated experience maintaining communications equipment, preferably HF and VHF radios, antennas and support equipment and laptop computers
    *
      Must have experience with Microwave/Line of Site LOS, Motorola VHF radio programming and installations and vehicle radios, Motorola VHF Radio repeater programming and installation, Motorola VHF radio installation and training and HF radio installation and training
    *
      Minimum of 10 yrs experience
    *
      Prior military experience desired.
    *
      Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications

    *
      Must be willing to travel to hazardous duty areas in South West Asia
    *
      Four year technical degree or equivalent experience
    *
      Ability to work with minimal supervision
    *
      Extensive HF and VHF Radio communications systems technical background.
    *
      Advanced knowledge of communication signal flow and equipment integration.
    *
      Advanced technical trouble shooting experience.
    *
      Excellent customer service skills and demeanor
    *
      Demonstrated self starter and demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems
    *
      Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced environment with short timelines.
    *
      Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations
    *
      Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects
    *
      Ability to perform and participate in a team oriented environment.
    *
      Ability to  communicate effectively with a diverse group of users.
