Job Description:

Responsibilities
    Ensure that developed cyber security capabilities are fit for use by working to design, build, and maintain a state of the art computer network test facility and participating in capability tests. Work with capability developers to determine testing requirements.  Translate these requirements into a test plan utilizing testbed capabilities and make appropriate modifications and additions to the testbed. Maintain the test network (e.g. perform backups, apply updates). Install new components as new technologies become available or new testing requirements dictate the need for new segments or capabilities. Conduct tests. Work with capability developers to correctly deploy the capability to be tested within the test network, reconfiguring the test network as necessary. Analyze and document results (e.g., quick-look reports as appropriate with long-term tests and final test reports). Work with capability developers to assess deployment readiness. Forecast future testbed capabilities.

Qualifications
    Required: BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. 2+ years of experience. Demonstrated experience with network protocols and systems. Demonstrated experience installing, configuring and maintaining networked systems. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, the ability to work on a team, outstanding written and oral communications skills, good organizational skills. Desired: MS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience installing, configuring and maintaining heterogeneous networked environment including any combination of; Windows and Linux server operations, Intrusion Detection Systems, firewalls, knowledge of Cisco devices and CLI, packet capture and analysis, VMWare, Sendmail, BIND, Microsoft Exchange, SAN operations, performance analysis and network management software, and data center operations.  Experience testing or analyzing computer network operations capabilities.

Special Work Conditions
    Must be eligible for DOD clearance requiring background investigation and/or polygraph examination. Local travel is required as work location is off-site of the APL campus.

Security
    Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.  Must be eligible for DoD clearance requiring background investigation and/or polygraph examination.  Preference for current SSBI.
